City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission August 10, 2016 City Hall Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. Those present: Bill Austin, Tony Asta, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks and Kathy Young. Mike moved we approve the agenda. Motion passed. 2._________Public Comment none 3. New Business Mike moved. Bill Seconded that the minutes from May 24 and June 7 be approved. Motion passed. Mike read a letter from Donna Benkert complimenting the Commission for their work in producing Music in the Park. Bill Austin was officially thanked for his participation. The letter will be filed for records. 4. Old Business We discussed the possible location of the mural and decided to visit the recommended spot on Hale Street behind the Gary Methodist Church. We discussed the budget and will try to find funds that will be matched by the City. Mike will ask the Rotary for $2000, Bill has $1500 left from Music in the Park, Jerico Road pledged $500. Tony will ask Rachel to talk with Basset Hussain for a donation for the project. Mike will keep us informed as to progress. 5. Miscellaneous Meeting adjourned at 7:37 Respectfully submitted Dee Hicks
