City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission January 31.2017 City Hall Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 7:31. Mike made a motion to approve the agenda. Motion passed. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Bill Austin, Tony Asta, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Kathy Young 2._________Public Comment none 3. New Business Sarah moved tht the August 10 minutes be approved. Motion passed. Mural project: More discussion was concerning the location of the mural. Suggestions included: Carlsons and the Wheaton Grand. All commissioners should be on the look out for a possible place for the mural that would allow enough space to accommodate a festival of some sort. Go Fund Me – The Commission felt this might be a possible vehicle to raise money for the Mural project. Mike informed us that the City approved matching funds of $5000 for the Commission. Music in the Park – will be held sometime in July. Bill will keep on top of this project. He informed us that this will be his last project because they are planning on moving out of Wheaton some time this summer. New Project – The Commission is hoping to fund something like the Chicago “Cows” and something golf related was suggested. 4. Old Business 5.
