City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall February 28, 2018 Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00. Attendees: Sarah Antas, Tony Asta, Bill Austin, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman and Kathy Young. 2._________Public Comment None 3. New Business A. Agenda approved: motion made by Mike Bock, second Laurie passed B. February 21 minutes approved: motion made by Kathy Young. Second Tony Asta. Passed. 4. Old Business A. Laurie reported that a blast hyping ball sales was being sent by the Chamber, DWA and Park District to members and patrons. The Park District is signed up to be an Albatross, however, wants two balls. We will accommodate them by adding a “Hole in One” ball. We felt that they are working with us in other ways and that this was a good pr move. Both Albatross balls have been sold and one Eagle sponsor. Public Works has no space for our artists to paint balls. The library is doing their own thing and won’t be needing any of Alberta’s artifacts. Dee will let her know of this development. Bill has commitments from eight women artists and asked permission to seek men artists to finish off our need for 18 (19). We are all encouraged to make contacts with people on our “hit” list, as well as friends, neighbors, family, to be part of the Par Sponsorship. Laurie will send a PDF of latest sponsorship flyer and intro letter. 5.. Miscellaneous Meeting adjourned 6:53. Motion by Mike second by Laurie. NEXT MEETING MARCH 7 6:00 PM
