City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall May 16, 2018 Special Meeting Minutes 1. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:00. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Tony Asta, Bill Austin, Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman. Kathy Young was absent 2._________Public Comment None 3. New Business A. The agenda was approved. Moved by Laurie, seconded by Sarah. B. The May 9 minutes were approved. Moved by Bill, seconded by Mike. 4. Old Business Golf Project: A. Artists are progressing. Mike is keeping up with material requests. We still need an answer from the City regarding the moving of the balls. B. Our budget should show approximately $10,000 after all expenses have been paid. C. Taste of Wheaton events are being finalized. D. Parade – USGA is interested in having a flatbed with a large golf club hitting the Community Ball. They are checking with volunteers to build club as well as locating a flatbed. E. Golf carts are out of the question for parade use. F. Swag bags for artists will contain: USGA bag tags, $20 cert from Warren’s Ale House, mini golf tokens, buckets of balls and pool passes from WPD, a $100 bill, pen/pencil sets and notepad from the City, and any other items collected. G. Note Cards. We will purchase 100 sets to be sold and given to sponsors. H. Ball hunt will be activated in Memorial Park. The Commission will wrap each ball in a baggie also containing game rules. I. Sign Authority is designing a logo for our Commission free of charge. They are also designing the reception invitation. J. Laurie and Sarah are following up with marketing materials. 5. Miscellaneous Meeting adjourned at 6:52. Next meeting will either be early Wednesday or Thursday. Mike will let us know.
