City of Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission City Hall June 13, 2018 Minutes 1. Call to Order Commissioner Laurie Oberhelman called the meeting to order at 6:01. Those in attendance: Bill Austin, Sarah Antas, Dee Hicks, Laurie Oberhelman, Kathy Young. Not in attendance: Mike Bock and Tony Asta 2._________Public Comment None 3. New Business A. The June minutes were approved as corrected. Moved by Sara and seconded by Bill. Motion passed A.1 The new Sponsor ball was purchased, picked up and delivered to the new artist who has submitted the initial drawing to the sponsor. They are very pleased and should expect delivery June 18. The Commission ball is also being worked on and is progressing nicely. It should have complete within the next several days. The theme will be “Have a Ball In Wheaton.” B. St. Francis golf coach requested more tickets for parents to attend the reception. Because she is also the Cantigy girl’s coach we are allowing 20 tickets to the reception, however, no other parents are included in the invitation. If it appears we have enough room, we will re-visit this request. Laurie is checking to make sure Davison name is on the ball. The Commission should be thinking about what to do with the Commission’s ball after the event. C. Laurie will resend proclamation for observation and comments. D. Score cards will be distributed through retail outlets, sponsors, Chamber and at the parade. PGA will have their “walkers” pass them out. E. Alpha Graphics is working on layout for program Laurie will set up meeting between Dee and her. F. We looked at possible plaques/cups for winning sponsor’s ball. No decision was made G. Laurie will send what information she has for the power point to Mike Bock. H. We will need a sign for the Community ball encouraging more brick sales.
