Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

February 5, 2019 I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:06. Those in attendance: Sarah Antas, Bill Austin, Mike Bock, Tony Asta and Laurie Swanson. Absentees: Dee Hicks and Kathy Young II. Agenda Item Tony moved and Sarah seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. III. Agenda Item Golf Ball Project: USGA has approved the new signage for their ball. We created a new sign and will have it produced at Sign Authority for shipment with the USGA ball. Busch Plastics has offered to pack the ball for free. Bill Austin and Mike Bock will drive the ball down to Busch Plastics in Bill’s van. Tony moved and Sarah seconded payment of up to $200 for the new signage. Motion carried IV. Agenda item Wheaton Festival of Cultures: Tony asked if the commission would support this project by finding artists to display and sell their art at the festival. General discussion followed on potential sources of artists. Tony moved and Sarah seconded a motion that the Commission formally supports this project with time and financial support if required.
