Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

September 18, 2020 – Virtual Meeting I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Swanson Oberhelman, Sara Antas, and Kathy Young. Tony Asta was absent. II. Agenda Items: Mike Bock moved and Laurie Oberhelman seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried Agenda Item Laurie Swanson Oberhelman moved and Kathy Young seconded the approval of Minutes from September 15, 2020. Motion carried. Agenda Item  Window Painting: There are only eight confirmed artists which leaves 20 windows to be assigned. Sara contacted St. Francis and COD with no luck. Dee contacted Wheaton Drama and signed up two artists.  Laurie sent revised guidelines to Tony for distribution. Agenda Item: (no change) Fire Plug painting. Mike checked with Lombard Public Works Department and found that the project was in Villa Park. He will follow up. Agenda Item New commissioners. Mike will set up interview process via Zoom. David Duve and Gerald Gallagher have been invited to our regular commission meeting Tuesday September 22. An executive session will be set up after regular meeting to accommodate interviews. Agenda Item (no change) Music in the Park was cancelled. There will be future discussion about this event including the renaming. Adjournment Meeting adjourned at 5:51.
