Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

June 22, 2021 Minutes Live and Virtual via Zoom I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:04 p.m. Roll Call Those present: Via Zoom Sarah Antas, Tony Asta (1/2 meeting). In person: Mike Bock, Dave Dumas, Tony Asta (1/2 meeting and Dee Hicks. Absent: Laurie Oberhelman Guest: Bari Erickson. II. Approval of agenda Mike Bock moved and Sarah Antas seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote. III. Public Comments N/C IV. Approval of Minutes Mike Bock moved and Tony Asta seconded the approval of the minutes of June 8, 2021. Motion approved by unanimous voice vote. V. New Business Kathy Young has retired from the Commission. Mike Bock will check with Sharon regarding going away recognition. A support flyer is being created by Mike Bock and Sarah Antas. This will be used to sign up supporters for the Wheaton Fine and Cultural Arts Commission. The Commission is asking for a yearly donation of $250. VII Old Business Festival of Cultures: Check being cut for Joanna, St. Francis’ student. Mike Bock will meet with the City to update waver. All projects moving forward on schedule. Fire Hydrant Project: Mike Bock will suggest to the City that the hydrants in the “painting” area be sandblasted and undercoated to ready them for the artists. Mike Bock will send the commissioners paint samples to choose from to order from Rustoleulm. Music in the Park: Will be held July 25 2:00-5:00. All acts being signed up and W-9 forms being collected by Tony Asta. Everything is on schedule. Sarah Antas moved and Tony Asta seconded to adjourn at 6:39 Motion approved by unanimous voice vote.
