Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

April 12, 2022, Commission Minutes, Conley Room, City Hall I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:08 p.m. II. Roll Call Those present: Mike Bock, Sarah Antas, Dave Duve, Laurie Swanson. Absent: Dee Hicks III. Agenda: Mike Bock moved and Laurie Swanson seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. IV. Approval of Minutes: Dave Duve moved, and Laurie Swanson Oberhelman seconded the approval of Minutes from March 22, 2022. Motion carried. V. New Business: No new business VI. Old Business Commission Calendar: Laurie Oberhelman spoke to Arts DuPage about a consolidated calendar for the arts in Wheaton. Arts DuPage has a calendar that we can self-populate and are fine with our putting a link on the City of Wheaton website. Mike Bock will ask City if that would be allowed. Music Day Celebration: Discussed sponsoring Day of Music in October instead of June. Consensus is that we need to move the event to the fall. Will discuss at next commission meeting. Community Golf Ball: Create new Golf Ball Plaque for City Hall ball- Laurie Oberhelman moved that we spend up to $200 to replace golf ball plaque with one that lists artist’s name and sponsor.
