Fine & Cultural Arts Commission

October 25, 2022, Commission Minutes, Gamon Room, City Hall I. Call to Order President Mike Bock called the meeting to order at 6:07 p.m. II. Roll Call Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Laurie Swanson, and Lewis Achenbach. Absent: Dave Duve and Randy King. Sarah Antas present via zoom. Bari Ericson, library rep joined the meeting. III. Agenda: Mike Bock moved, and Laurie Swanson seconded the approval of the agenda with addition of Andy Warhol project and website calendar. Motion carried. IV. Approval of Minutes: Mike Bock moved to accept September 15th minutes Laurie Oberhelman seconded. Motion carried. V. New Business: Andy Warhol project is being sponsored by COD. Wheaton Chamber has set up an ad hoc committee to support this project by creating activities and/or educational programs throughout this project. Our commissioners are asked to come up with possible ideas to support this program and bring ideas to next commission meeting. Sarah is our rep with the Chamber. Calendar: Susan Bishel will be asked to add a link to the City’s website to connect with art relative events. Laurie will follow up. VI. Old Business International Day of Music (IDM)-was a creative success; however, attendance was not as large as we had anticipated. The musical groups were happy to perform, but the sound system did not work as planned. We would like to consider this an annual event and will start planning earlies than this year. VII.
