June 17,2024, Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall I. Call to Order President Lewis Achenbach called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. II. Roll Call Those present: Mike Bock, Dee Hicks, Lewis Achenbach, Vittoria Clay, and Sarah Antas. Also present: Hannah Ewoldt-Stutzman and Victoria Isikman. Absent: Randy King and Lynette Zelis. III. Agenda: Mike Bock moved, and Vittoria Clay seconded the approval of the agenda. Motion carried. IV. Approval of Minutes: Sarah Antas moved and Vittoria Clay seconded to accept June 3,2024. Motion carried. V. New Business: Public Art N/A VI. Old Business 2024 Walking (Biking) Tour. (hold over from last meeting) We will help the Wheaton Bicyclist and Pedestrian Commission with their project. We suggest that they limit the Tour North of the tracks and Adams Park June 21 Make Music Day. Yard signs are available as well as window posters. Approximately 40 musicians have signed up. Lewis Achenbach will put together a Zoom program to introduce program. Water will be available. Vittoria Clay is organizing volunteers. Mural restoration. The mural on College Avenue needs some touch up work. (Carry over from January agenda) VII. Commissioner Comments: None Adjournment: Mike Bock moved and Sarah Antas seconded the meeting be adjourned at 7:04. Motion carried. Monday, June 17th, 2024 at 6pm In Person Meeting: Gamon Room, Wheaton City Hall Monday, June 17th, 2024 at 6pm Meeting of the Fine & Cultural Arts Commission will be held as an in-person meeting. Please note that civility and a sense of decorum will be strictly followed. The purpose of the Fine and Cultural Arts Commission is to: 1. Increase citizen access to the arts by providing leadership, advocacy, and the support for art that enriches the cultural vitality of our community. 2. Provide advice and work cooperatively with the city council to promote fine and cultural arts in the city. 3. Foster and promote an appreciation of fine arts within the city by enlisting and encouraging public and private agencies, as well as the general public, to support art and cultural events within the city. 4. At the request of the City Council, review and make recommendations directly to the City Council for artworks for public buildings and public spaces. 5.
