Wheaton Public Library Special Board Meeting Minutes of November 1, 2016 I. Call to Order and Roll Call: The Board of Trustees of the Wheaton Public Library held a Special Meeting on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 in the Library Board Room. President Christine Fenne brought the meeting to order at 5:32 p.m. Members present at roll call were Mr. Cho, Mrs. Fenne, Mr. McHaley, Mrs. Metanchuk and Mr. Sanguinetti. Absent: Mrs. Lindsey, Ms. Porter, Mrs. Stec and Mrs. Wonser. Betsy Adamowski, Library Director, and Lisa Christell-Sandri, Library Finance Manager and recording secretary for this meeting were in attendance. II. Citizens to Be Heard: None AGENDA III. Old Business: None IV. New Business: A. Motion to Approve the hiring of Hallett Movers to do Phase I – Reorganization of Basement, First and Second Floors Remodel Project: Mrs. Adamowski explained that Professional Library Lift Movers did not bid due to the complexity and time constraint of the project. She stated that the bid from Hallett Movers was reasonable. The timeline is not certain as the movers will have to meet with the library to go over the details. Mrs. Adamowski stated that the library will remain open during the moving; it will be done in phases. Mr. McHaley moved and Mr. Cho seconded to approve the above motion. Motion to Approve Spending to not exceed $20,000 to do electrical work for the Reorganization of Basement, First and Second Floors Remodel Project: Mrs. Adamowski stated that 3 competitive estimates have been received. The work will not include certain components of the proposal since that work will be done in the Project’s 2nd phase. She expects the work needed for the 1st phase to be under $10,000.
