LIBRARY BOARD PLANNING MEETING MINUTES Wednesday, July 28, 2021 6:30 p.m. I. Call to Order The Board of Trustees of the Wheaton Public Library held a Library Board Planning meeting on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. Board President Laurie Metanchuk called the meeting to order at 6:34 p.m. Members present in person at roll call were Christine Fenne, Al Herbach, Laurie Metanchuk and Vallari Talapatra. Present via Zoom was: Kathryn Staron. Absent: Bob Lyon, Joe McHaley, Simone Morton, and Bob McDonough. Staff members present were: Betsy Adamowski, Library Director, Dawn Kovacs, Deputy Director, Jennifer Asimakopoulos, Adult Services Department Head, Lisa Barefield, Teen Department Head, Ed Sirovatka, IT/Facilities Manager, Courtney Tedrick, Community Engagement Department Head, Dana Tieman, Continuing Education & Development Department Head, Rachel Weiss-Binder, Youth Services Department Head, and Lisa Christell-Sandri, Library Finance/Business Office Manager and recording secretary for this meeting. II. Citizens to Be Heard None III. Strategic Planning Review and Discussion – Wheaton Library Board of Trustees and Management Staff The management staff introduced themselves. Dana Tieman, as the coordinator of the strategic planning process, led the PowerPoint presentation. She began with a timeline of the quarterly reports that she will be presenting to the Board. She then reviewed the components of the 2-year Strategic Plan and answered questions from the Board members. There was discussion among the management staff and the Board members. At the conclusion of the meeting, Mrs. Adamowski noted that the data will get more in-depth as time goes on. Everyone thanked Ms. Tieman for her excellent presentation. IV. Adjournment Mrs. Fenne moved and Mr. Herbach seconded to adjourn.
