LOCAL LIQUOR CONTROL COMMISSION
July 12, 2018
I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL VOTE
Chair Taylor called the July 12, 2018 meeting of the Local Liquor Control Commission meeting to
order at 7:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers of the Wheaton City Hall, 303 West Wesley
Street.
Upon roll call, the following were present: Commissioner Brown, Commissioner Pearse,
Commissioner Sender, Chair Taylor, Commissioner Wolgemuth. Absent: None. City Staff Present:
James P. Kozik, Director of Planning and Economic Development.
II. PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment.
III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES – June 14, 2018
Commissioner Pearse moved and Commissioner Brown seconded a motion to approve the minutes
of the June 14, 2018 Local Liquor Control Commission meeting as submitted. On a voice vote, all
voted aye.
IV. NEW BUSINESS
APPLICATION FOR CLASS A LIQUOR LICENSE – MOVEABLE FEAST + COMPANY – 112
N. HALE STREET
Mr. Matt Marquez, owner of Moveable Feast + Company, was in attendance to present an
application for a Class A Liquor License (full liquor) for a new restaurant to be located at 112 N.
Hale Street in Downtown Wheaton to the Commission.
Mr. Marquez stated that his farm-to-table style carry-out and sit-down restaurant will seat 141
persons. Mr. Marquez stated that this will be the third Moveable Feast business which includes a
café in Geneva and a banquet facility in Aurora.
Mr. Marquez stated that the Wheaton restaurant hours will be Tuesday - Saturday 7:00 am - 6:00
pm closed Sunday and Monday. Friday 7:00 am - 2:00 pm and reopen for 5:00 pm - 11:00 pm for
dinner.
Mr. Marquez stated that all restaurant staff involved in the sale of alcoholic beverages are BASSET
trained and if there is any question as to the customers not being of legal age, they will ask for
identification.
Hearing no questions or comments, Commissioner Pearse then moved and Commissioner
Wolgemuth seconded a motion to recommend to the City Council that a Class A Liquor License be
issued to the Moveable Feast + Company. On a roll call vote, all voted aye.
V. MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
There was no Miscellaneous business.
