September 9, 2015 WHEATON PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD I. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL VOTE Acting Chair Weller called the September 9, 2015 Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Wheaton City Hall, 303 W. Wesley Street. Upon roll call, the following were: Roll Call Vote Present: Bob Gudmundson Linda Johnson Robert McDonough Mark Plunkett Scott Weller Absent: Chris Derrick Patricia Schwarze City Staff Present: Tracy Jones, Staff Planner II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - AUGUST 25, 2015 The minutes were approved as presented. III. PUBLIC COMMENT There was none. IV. NEW BUSINESS ZA #15-14/ PUD/ 1830 EAST ROOSEVELT ROAD/ ROC 1830 ROOSEVELT LLC Pursuant to notice duly published on August 22, 2015 and letters mailed to neighboring property owners on August 20, 2015, Acting Chair Weller called to order the September 9, 2015 public hearing requesting a special use permit for a planned unit development (PUD) to allow the construction and use of a 130,579 square foot self storage facility located at 1830 East Roosevelt Road, following the demolition of the former car dealership building. Staff Planner Jones stated that the applicant needs to submit additional information regarding the redevelopment of the eastern portion of the property, which is currently improved with a small parking lot for the adjacent Fresh Market development, before the project could be discussed in detail. Staff Planner Jones recommended that the Board take public testimony from anyone in attendance at the public hearing and then continue the item until the Board’s next regular meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. Acting Chair Weller asked if there was anyone in attendance at the public hearing that wanted to provide public testimony. However, there was no public comment provided. Mr. McDonough moved and then Mr. Plunkett seconded the motion to continue the public hearing until the Board’s next regular meeting on Tuesday, September 22, 2015. On a voice vote, all voted aye.
