NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Wheaton Planning and Zoning Board will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Wheaton City Hall, 303 West Wesley Street, Wheaton, Illinois, to consider the following zoning application: Zoning Application #17-10. An application requesting an amendment to the text of the Wheaton Zoning Ordinance, Article 18, C-3 General Business District. The proposed text amendment considers adding the following use to the list of uses requiring a Special Use Permit in the C-3 General Business District: “18.3, Special Use Permit Required: Schools (Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade).” The application is further requesting a Special Use Permit to allow a School to operate out of the existing building located at 1607 Taft Avenue. The School would be a private school serving children in pre- kindergarten through sixth grade. The subject property would remain in the C-3 General Business District. The application has been submitted by Carriers of Light, an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, c/o Mark W. Daniel, Daniel Law Office, P.C., 17W733 Butterfield Road, Suite F, Oakbrook Terrace, IL 60181. The subject property is legally described as: LOT 2 IN SMYKAL 1600 RESUBDIVISION, BEING A RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 9, 10, 11 ( EXCEPT THE NORTH 5 FEET OF SAID LOTS 9, 10 AND 11), ALL OF LOTS 12, 13 AND 14 IN BLOCK 32 AND THE EASTERLY 33 FEET VACATED PROSPECT AVENUE LYING WESTERLY OF AND ADJOINING SAID LOTS 11 AND 12, IN WHEATON ESTATES, BEING A SUBDIVISION IN SECTION 22, TOWNSHIP 36 NORTH, RANGE 10, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, ACCORDING TO THE PLAT THEREOF RECORDED DECEMBER 17, 2010 AS DOCUMENT R2010- 176980, IN DUPAGE COUNTY, ILLINOIS. The subject property is commonly known as 1607 Taft Avenue, Wheaton, IL 60187. P.I.N. 05-22-103-035 At the public hearing, anyone wishing to make a public statement will be encouraged to do so. Written comments may be submitted to the Board prior to or at the public hearing.
