Event Description
The purpose of the Wichita Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board Bikeways Tour is to provide an opportunity for the
board members to experience and bikeways, potential bikeways, and bicycling conditions in Wichita. It is estimated that
the tour will last approximately 3 hours. Staff from the City of Wichita will lead the tour. The tour will take place on
bicycles, members of the public are welcome to attend. Those who wish to participate but do not wish to bicycle can
drive to locations along the route and meet up with the tour participants.
Route
The planned route for the tour is approximately 12 miles and will start near the intersection of 3rd Street and Main
Street. The planned route for the tour is shown on a map (following page). Below are highlights of what will be seen
along the tour. The route is subject to change depending on weather, pace of the tour, and route conditions.

During the tour, participants will have an opportunity to experience the following.
Existing Bikeways
Market and Topeka Bike Lanes
17th and 18th Street Bikeway
Arkansas River Path – East
Midtown Bike Path
Mt Vernon Bike Path
Porter signed bicycle route
