Item Description
1. Call to Order: Jack Brown, Chair, welcomed guests and called the special call meeting to order at 5:30
pm.
2. Public Comments: There were no comments.
3. Priority Safety Corridor Project Location: Scott Wadle, Senior Management Analyst, and Sierra
Saunders, Alta Planning & Design team member, provided an overview of the project, analysis, and a
recommendation for the priority project location. The board was asked to identify and endorse the
project location. Ms. Saunders who was linked into the meeting via phone and showed the board a
PowerPoint presentation. According to Ms. Saunders, the project timetable was from June to
September 2018. The following three options were presented for the board’s consideration: 1) North
Broadway Street between Kellogg and East 13th Streets; 2) East Central between North Seneca Street
and Oliver Avenue; and 3) East Douglas between South Broadway Street and South Hillside Street. Scott
Wadle noted that some of the identified areas currently are being considered for other improvement
projects as well. The members did not want to complicate matters or overlap existing projects that are
under consideration. After extensive discussion, Elizabeth Ablah moved [Barry Carroll] to select Option
#1 [Broadway Street from 3rd Street northward to 11th Street]; motion carried 6-0. In closing, Ms.
Saunders thanked the board for the selection and noted that there would be an opportunity for
community input for this project.
4. Announcements:
Possible Closing of Clapp Golf Course: George Theoharis noted that the City is considering
the possible closing of the Clapp Golf Course. George urged the board members to provide
input into the community process.
KOMA/KORA Training: There is a training for all City board and commission members on
Tuesday, June 26th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on the first floor of City Hall.
5. Closing Thoughts: There were no comments.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:30 pm.
The next meeting of the board will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 @5:30 pm.
