Event Description
The purpose of the Wichita Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board Bikeways Tour is to provide an opportunity for the
board members to experience and bikeways, potential bikeways, and bicycling conditions in Wichita. It is estimated that
the tour will last approximately 2 hours. Staff from the City of Wichita will lead the tour. The tour will take place on
bicycles, members of the public are welcome to attend. Those who wish to participate but do not wish to bicycle can
drive to locations along the route and meet up with the tour participants.
Route
This tour will include a ride on a 15 passenger shuttle followed by a bicycle ride. The seats on the shuttle are available on
a first come first serve basis. It is anticipated that the shuttle will visit the area near the Kellogg and I-235 interchange
and Air Capital Memorial Park. The shuttle will return to the intersection of Carr Avenue and Maize Road, then the
bicycle tour will begin. The bicycle tour will travel north to the Prairie Sunset Trail and then proceed west. The tour will
return to the starting location using the same route. Below are highlights of what will be seen along the tour. The route
is subject to change depending on weather, pace of the tour, and route conditions.
