Event Description
The purpose of the Wichita Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board Bikeways Tour is to provide an opportunity for the
board members to experience bicycling conditions in Wichita. It is estimated that the tour will last approximately 2
hours. Staff from the City of Wichita will lead the tour. The tour will take place on bicycles, members of the public are
welcome to attend. Those who wish to participate but do not wish to bicycle can drive to locations along the route and
meet up with the tour participants.
Route
The bicycle tour will generally travel in the Delano and Downtown areas. It will begin at the intersection of Sycamore
and Douglas Avenue, then travel north to the Delano Path corridor, the Advanced Learning Library, and 2nd Street. It will
then travel west to 1st and Water, then east to Mclean Boulevard; then onto the Arkansas River Path; then south to
Douglas Avenue; then west to Sycamore; then south to Maple, then east to the Water Wall; then west and north along
the river; around Century II; then south to Waterman; then west to Oak Street to the starting location. Below are
highlights of what will be seen along the tour. The route is subject to change depending on weather, pace of the tour,
and route conditions.

Existing Bikeways
Advanced Learning Library
Wichita Street and 1st Street intersection
Ark River Path and 1st Street intersection
Douglas Avenue
Stadium, including a tour
Century II
