Wichita Citizen’s Review Board Agenda Thursday, August 26, 2021 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. 1. Call to Order — Chairperson J. Fowler 2. Approval of July Minutes – Chairperson J. Fowler 3. Public Agenda — 15 minutes set aside for this portion of the meetings. 4. Staff Report Update – Captain W. Nicholson  A review of recent complaints and status updates of pending complaints and investigations. 5. Disposition Letters for Investigations – Sergeant C. Lemons  Sergeant Lemons will provide an overview on recommended changes from community members regarding disposition letters sent out from closed complaints and investigations. 6. Review of Draft Report on Accomplishments of the Citizen Review Board – Board Member D. Bender  Citizen Review Board Member Dennis Bender will present documents pertaining to accomplishments and ongoing activities pertaining to the Citizen Review Board. 7. Proposed Policy Changes – Chairperson J. Fowler  A discussion regarding the consideration of policy changes pertaining to Wichita Police Department policy pertaining to Grievances and Arbitration Proceedings. 8. Executive Session – Review of Complaint(s)/Investigation(s) A. 20PSB-3957: On August 27, 2020, a Wichita Police Department officer used excessive force on a suspect that was taken into custody by using his Taser and body weapons in addition to making an unprofessional remark. B. 20PSB-3958: On September 13, 2020, a Wichita Police Department officer used a Taser against a suspect, whom the officer had taken into custody and placed in handcuffs.
