DAB member: What are the plans for the trees on 13th St. Will you trim or cut them down?
Gunzelman: It will depend on what Westar Energy would need to do to operate their lines.
DAB member: How far off the road will the improvements be? Gunzelman: 20 ft., all
improvements can be done with the right away that is there now. The more north the project
extends, the more the need will be.
DAB member: If trees are removed, will they be replanted? Gunzelman: As of now, there are no
plans to replant trees, however; landscaping is usually included in the project.
DAB member: Have the homeowners been notified? Gunzelman: Yes, homeowners should have
received a letter in the mail and door hangers.
Citizens: Homeowners commented that they approved of the project, but did not want to lose the
trees. A traffic light at the intersection was also recommended to the public works department.
Dan Heflin made a motion to recommend approval of the design improvements on 13th St.
