Fire Report
Lt. Mark Misek, Fire station 2 (Lincoln & Broadway), reported Fire Chief Ron Blackwell has
resigned and Tammy Snow is serving as the acting Chief while a national search is being
conducted. He said Chief Snow is committed to community engagement and each month a project
is created which helps give back to the community.
District III had the highest number of fires last month with four arsons and one dwelling fire.
A 9/11 stair climb is scheduled at the Epic Center on Saturday, Sept. 9. Citizens will not be allowed
to go inside the Epic Center but there will be a live video feed.
Paul Davis (DAB) asked why the City is searching nationally for the Fire Chief when Tammy
Snow is right here and more than qualified.
Cindy Miles (DAB) wanted to know how to submit an idea to the Fire Department for their giving
back projects. Lt. Misek said they can be submitted to any Captain or directly to Chief Snow.
