Minutes 1 January 26, 2015 District V Advisory Board Meeting Minutes www.wichita.gov Wichita Fire Station #21 January 26, 2015 2110 N. 135th St. W. 6:30 p.m. Wichita, KS 67235 The District V Advisory Board meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station #21, 2110 N. 135th West Wichita, KS 67235. In attendance were seven District Advisory Board members, four City staff and two members of the public who signed in. Motion passed: (7/0) Approval of Minutes The minutes for December 15, 2014, were approved. Motion passed: (7/0) Public Agenda 1. Scheduled items: None *****Action: Received and file 2. Off Agenda items: None *****Action: Received and file Minutes 2 January 26, 2015 Staff Presentations 3. Community Police Report Officer Bradley Haught, WPD, gave a brief update on the activities in Patrol West. As of this year, part one crimes in the Patrol West area are down 6.1%. The decrease of part one crimes can be contributed to the special assignments to lower larceny and residential burglary in the area. For the month of January there has been seven auto thieves reported, four of them were due to citizens leaving their vehicles on unattended while warming in the cold weather. A suspect was quickly apprehended following the Credit Union of America robbery; WPD pinpoint the suspect’s vehicle in which he was traveling with the aide of the GPS linked bait money. *****Action: Receive and file. 4. Wichita Fire Department Report Captain Mike Malter, WFD, gave a brief update on the activities at Station 21. There was a major residential fire at 2161 Hunting Circle. The fire was caused by an outdoor grill on the back deck patio. The fire has been ruled accidental and caused $100K in damages. The WFD has a whole has responded to more than 70K calls in 2014. *****Action: Receive and file. New Business 5. ZON2014-00033 Bill Longnecker Bill Longnecker, MAPD explained that applicant BATC, LLC (applicant/owner) Timothy Chadd (agent) have requested to rezone to (TF-3) Two- Family Residential zoning. The proposed site is currently zoned as (SF-5) Single-Family Residential, 1.77-acres in size and is located south of Central Avenue, east of Ridge Road, on the west side of Wayside Lane’s. *****Action: (Frye /Greene) made the motion to recommend approval for the rezoning subject to the conditions listed in the staff report. BOARD AGENDA 6. Neighborhood Reports DAB Members may report events/activities from the neighborhood/homeowners groups in their areas. *****Recommended Action: Receive and file. Agenda 2 January 26, 2015 UPDATES FROM COUNCIL MEMBER ANNOUNCEMENTS The next DAB V meeting will be held on Monday, February 23, 2015. ADJOURN
