The District V Advisory Board meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station #21 located at 2110 N. 135th
St W., Wichita, KS 67235.

Fire Department Report: Capt. Mark Dewey, reported statistics for December 2015
No fires in District V for the month
WFD Annual Boot Campaign raised $49,000 for the Salvation Army
Capt. Dewey reminded everyone to have their fireplaces and furnaces inspected

Public Works Report: Council Member Frye reported at the request of Gary Janzen, City Engineer.

CM Frye and Rainwater updated DAB V members the results of the MAPC hearing that was
held on Dec. 17, 2015, on the following cases that were presented to the DAB V at the December
7, 2015 meeting:

CUP2015-00041: amendment to Community Unit Plan (CUP) DP 134 to increase multi-
family residential density and amend development standards on a parcel of land generally
located at the northwest corner of West Central Avenue and North Maize Road. CM Frye
and Rainwater updated DAB V members the results of the MAPC hearing that was held on
Dec. 17, 2015. The action of the MAPC was to approve the CUP Amendment subject to the
following conditions:
Parcel 2a shall be limited to 60 multi-family residential units in buildings not to exceed 35’ in
height
If developed with multi-family residences, Parcel 2a shall maintain cross lot access to both Parcel
1 and Parcel 2. The applicant shall construct access improvements from Parcel 2a to Parcel 1
prior to obtaining residential building permits. The applicant shall submit a site plan
demonstrating access from Parcel 2a to Parcel 1, to be approved by planning staff and the City
Traffic Engineer.
The applicant shall submit building elevations, to be approved by planning staff, demonstrating
architectural compatibility per CUP requirements, to include 25% fieldstone facing existing
neighborhood.
Parcel 2a shall maintain a 10-foot landscape buffer along Parcel 3 property line.

Parcel 2a shall share maintenance, per written maintenance agreement with adjacent property
owners, of common access, water features and wall facilities.
The applicant shall submit four revised copies of the CUP to the Metropolitan Area Planning
Department within 60 days of approval or the request shall be considered denied and closed.
VAC2015-00038: City request to vacate a portion of platted public street right-of-way generally
described as vacating a south portion of the platted Lakeway Street public right-of-way, located
between Lot 75, Block 1, & Lot 44, Block 2, all in the Siena Lakes Addition, and ending at the
abutting portion of Lakeway Street located in the Ridge Port North 4th Addition, Wichita, Sedgwick
County, Kansas.
Case deferred at the request of applicant.
