The District V Advisory Board meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. at Fire Station #21 located at 2110 N. 135th
St W., Wichita, KS 67235.

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Mike Greene

Staff Reports
Fire Department Report: Capt. Mark Dewey, reported statistics for December 2015
One fire (on Stoney Point) in District V for the month of January. Undetermined cause
Reminded everyone to use caution when burning candles. Never leave unattended

Community Police Report: Community Police Officer, Charley Davidson, reported.
Seeing an increase in larceny to vehicles
One robbery at Valero at Central & Ridge
Increase in burglaries and larcenies to homes along Big Ditch. Patrol has been stepped up
Public Works Report: Shawn Mellies, Special Project Engineer, reported.
North Ridge Road – Dewatering for new development infrastructure
Central & Norman – Negative flow drainage being corrected
Water main replacement in Country Acres – 3-4 miles of 4,6 and 8” pipe is being replaced with
8” pipe
DAB? : When will work begin?
A: Work will take place in two phases with construction beginning in March
DAB? : Will homeowners be notified?
A: Yes due to interruption of service
Woodchuck Bicycle Boulevard - A shared vehicle and bicycle route will be established along a
route beginning at Westport St. and Ridge Rd. ending at Woodchuck St. and Maple. A flashing
beacon and crosswalk will be added on Ridge Rd. at Westport and on Central at Redbarn Ln.
New traffic signs and pavement markings will be installed identifying the shared route for
bicyclists and motor vehicles.
Kellogg/235 – Utility work continues and bridge piers being installed
