The District VI Advisory Board meeting was held at 6:30 p.m. at the Evergreen Park & Recreation Center
Lounge Clubroom 2700 N. Woodland, Wichita, KS 67204. There were five District Advisory Board
members in attendance and three City staff.

Pro Tem Scott Dunakey called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.
Approval of Agenda
The agenda was approved as submitted. Motion passed (5-0)

The minutes for September 8, 2014, were approved. Motion passed (5-0)

3. CON2014-00026
Kathy Morgan, MAPD, presented CON2014-00026 Conditional Use for outdoor storage .Is required by
D-O Delano Overlay (D-O) Sec.III-C.8.b.(2). The site is located on the west side of North Seneca and
south of West 3rd Street North. The property is currently developed with a single-family residence and
side yard on the 0.3-acre site. The applicant is asking to place an 8-feet X 40-feet X 9-feet portable
storage container on the rear half of the side yard. The existing drive access from Seneca will remain.
The site also has access from the alley abutting the west property line.

The DAB Members had the following questions or concerns:
DAB? Has the applicant submitted a site plan? A: The applicant has submitted an aerial photograph
indicating where the storage container will be placed.
DAB? Has the applicant indicated what will be stored inside the container? A: The applicant owns a
construction company; he has indicated that he will be storing items for his company.
DAB? Will the applicant be able to store items outside of the storage container? A: Items are allowed to
remain outside the storage container no more the 72 hours.
DAB? The applicant has indicated that he will install a six foot screened fence, why not an eight foot
fence? A: The applicant is not required to install a fence, but has willingly chosen a six foot fence.
DAB? Is the applicant limited to one storage container? A: No, his property will accommodate additional
storage containers.
*****Action: (Mason/ Gard) made a motion to recommend approval of conditional use for outdoor
storage.
Motion passed: (5-0)

NEW BUSINESS
3. CON2014-00026 Kathy Morgan
Applicant/Owner Ronnie Beard has requested a Conditional Use for Outdoor Storage. The property is currently
zoned General Commercial (GC) subject to Delano-Overlay (D-O), its 0.3 acre in size and is located on the west
side of North Seneca and south of West 3rd Street North.
*****Recommended Action: Based upon information available prior to the public hearings, planning staff
recommends that the request be approved based on findings and subject to the conditions listed in the staff report.
