The City of Wichita is not financing this proposed project. The applicant’s agent was present to clarify or answer any questions or concerns. Members of the DAB and the public had the following questions or concerns: DAB? Are the tax credits issued by the City of Wichita? A: The tax credits are issued by the Federal Government DAB? Why the reduction to the 20% set aside? A: Based on our evaluation of the market rental rate it would not be financially stable to proceed with the proposed project. DAB? The 20% set aside rental rate, is that a standard with the city? Council Member Miller: The 20% allocation is not a national or state standard but a starting point that the City Council has adopted. DAB? Are the units ADA compliant? A: The lower level units can be converted to meet ADA compliance if there is a need. DAB? How long will the property offer low income housing.
