FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY - Request City Manager request Police Chief provide City Council with a report detailing the value relative to utilizing small Unmanned Aircraft System (sUAS) for police overwatch purposes. Request said report include the following information: 1) who is responsible for monitoring sUAS data; 2) the process relative to relaying sUAS data to the public; 3) the process relative to utilizing sUAS during an investigation; 4) available trainings and sources to attest the value of sUAS for police overwatch; and 5) what are the costs associated per use relative to deploying sUAS for overwatch purposes. 13b. FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY - Request City Manager request Police Chief provide City Council with a report comparing the number of manually operated drones used in the city with those used in other similarly sized New England communities including, but not limited to, Springfield, MA, Hartford, CT, and Manchester, NH. 13c. FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY - Request City Manager work with the Fire Chief to publish the Fire Chief’s recommendations concerning residential fire safety protocols on the city’s website, in light of recent online ads promoting false and/or hazardous fire safety products. FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY - Request City Manager request Fire Chief provide City Council with a report detailing potential language translation options available to the Worcester Fire Department (WFD) to better communicate with residents while responding to calls, including any products similar to the Worcester Police Department’s (WPD) real-time language translation software available through Body-worn Camera (BWC), Axon Performance. Further, request said report include best practices utilized by fire departments in other urban cities, including New York City and Boston, related to language translation. 13e. FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC SAFETY - Request City Manager request Fire Chief provide City Council with a report detailing which schools the Worcester Fire Department (WFD) provided fire safety communication to over the past two (2) years, as well as the frequency of said communication. 13f. FROM THE COMMITTEE ON PUBLIC WORKS - Request City Manager request Commissioner of Transportation and Mobility provide City Council with a report detailing why the damaged and/or missing stop signage at the intersection of Edlin St. and Royal Rd. have not been replaced. 13g.
