YAKIMA CITY COUNCIL MINUTES July 1, 2024 Yakima Convention Center - South Lobby - 10 N. 8th Street, Yakima, WA 6:00 PM City Council Special Meeting – conducted in person 1. Roll Call Present: Mayor Patricia Byers, presiding; Assistant Mayor Matt Brown and Councilmembers Reedy Berg, Rick Glenn, Danny Herrera and Leo Roy Staff: City Attorney Sara Watkins, Director of Human Resources Connie Mendoza and City Clerk Rosalinda Ibarra Absent and Excused: Councilmember Janice Deccio 2. Public Comment (allow 15 minutes) None. 3. Special Meeting Items A. Public Meet and Greet with City Manager Candidates Mayor Byers introduced the City Manager finalists Richard Marsh, Jr., Mike Gonzalez, and Vicki Baker and invited the community members present to interact with them and provide feedback. Richard Marsh Jr. highlighted his expertise in economic development and financial management. Mike Gonzalez shared his experience in building relationships with developers and rebranding the perception of the City of Pasco. Vicki Baker noted the importance of working together to provide stability and solve problems in the community. No other business of the Council was transacted. 4. Adjournment MOTION: Brown moved and Herrera seconded to adjourn to the next City Council special meeting on July 2, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall. The motion carried by unanimous vote; Deccio absent.
