17-0659 A bill for an ordinance naming the City-owned building located at 2851
Tremont Place the Anna Jo Haynes Early Learning Center.
Pamela Harris, President & CEO, Mile High Early Learning,
presented information about Anna Jo Haynes and the
reason to honor her by naming the center for her. Elbra
Wedgeworth, former Councilmember, and Lisa Roy, head of
Denver Public Schools Early Learning, also testified in
support of the proposal.
A motion offered by Councilmember Espinoza, duly seconded by Councilmember
Ortega, that Bill 17-0659 be approved for filing carried by the following vote:
Aye: 7- Kniech, Flynn, Black, Espinoza, López, Ortega, Brooks
Nay: 0
Presentations
17-0656 Briefing: Litigation Trends.
Kristen Bronson, Wendy Shea, Karla Pierce, and Rob
Newspor, City Attorney's Office discussed the trends
regarding litigation against the City, including numbers
and outcomes.
A motion offered by Councilmember Ortega, duly seconded by Councilmember
Espinoza, that Presentation 17-0656 be entered executive session. The motion
carried by the following vote:

Following are items that were approved on the Committee's consent agenda
today.
17-0646 Removes language that references the recently abolished short range pay
table in the City Classification and Pay Plan.
This Bill 17-0646 was approved by consent.
17-0655 A bill for an ordinance re-appointing Julia C. Yeckes to serve as a member
of the Board of Ethics.
This Bill 17-0655 was approved by consent.
17-0658 Amends the Dedicated Tax Revenue Bond Ordinance, Series 2016AB, to
clarify that pledged revenues do not include Charitable Corporations, under
the Denver Revised Municipal Code.
