Minutes Safety, Housing, Education & Homelessness Committee Committee Members: Kashmann, Chair; Torres, Vice-Chair; Sandoval, Kniech, Flynn, Sawyer Committee Staff: Emily Lapel Wednesday, February 19, 2020, 10:30 AM City & County Building, Room 391 Attendance Present: 5- Kashmann, Torres, Sandoval, Flynn, Sawyer Absent: 1- Kniech Presentations 20-0153 Briefing: Denver Sustainable Food Policy Council, update on Denver’s Food Vision Action Items 20-0047 Amends the Denver Revised Municipal Code (DRMC) to update references to the Department of Housing Stability as appropriate, and to make policy changes, including utilizing performance deeds of trust and liens to address compliance with City affordability requirements and restructuring the City’s Housing Advisory Committee to support the entire housing continuum. A motion offered by Councilmember Sawyer, duly seconded by Councilmember Torres, that Council Bill 20-0047 be postponed to a date certain. The motion carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Kashmann, Torres, Sandoval, Flynn, Sawyer, Clark Nay: 0 Absent: 1- Kniech 20-0146 Approves a grant agreement with the State of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies for $603,987 and through 3-31-22 to reimburse the City for non-recurring costs related to the implementation of ESInet by the Denver 911 Emergency Communications Center (SAFTY-202053484). A motion offered that Council Resolution 20-0146 be approved by consent en bloc, carried by the following vote: Aye: 6- Kashmann, Torres, Sandoval, Flynn, Sawyer, Clark Nay: 0 Absent: 1- Kniech 20-0148 Amends Chapter 18 of the Denver Revised Municipal Code to establish the 2020 salary and fringe benefits of the command staff for the Denver Sheriff’s Department.
