MARKET STREET AND OWNED BY LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT (“METRO GOVERNMENT”) AS SURPLUS AND NOT NEEDED FOR A GOVERNMENTAL PURPOSE AND AUTHORIZING ITS TRANSFER. R-269-14 A RESOLUTION OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY METRO GOVERNMENT, KENTUCKY, GIVING PRELIMINARY APPROVAL OF AN INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BOND FINANCING IN ONE OR MORE SERIES FOR BROWN-FORMAN CORPORATION, OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES; AUTHORIZING INITIATION OF THE ACQUISITION, CONSTRUCTION AND INSTALLATION OF AN INDUSTRIAL PROJECT RELATED THERETO; AGREEING TO UNDERTAKE THE ISSUANCE OF INDUSTRIAL REVENUE BONDS IN ONE OR MORE SERIES AT THE APPROPRIATE TIME; AND TAKING OTHER PRELIMINARY ACTION. The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent Calendar. Without objection the Ordinance was Untabled. CM Fleming explained his rationale for requesting a Financial Impact Statement of this Ordinance. John Sheller, Attorney, spoke against the legality of this Ordinance and McKenzie Cantrell, Attorney, spoke in favor of this Ordinance. Without objection the Ordinance was Tabled. Chair Person Tandy stated the schedule for this Ordinance is as follows: After Thanksgiving Break, This Ordinance will be discussed at the Committee Meeting on Dec 4, 2014. Any amendments should be filed before the December 4, 2014 Committee meeting. A vote is to be taken on the ordinance at the December 4, 2014 Committee Meeting to send it to the full Council for a vote on December 11, 2014. Adjournment Without objection, the meeting adjourned at 3:07 p.m. *NOTE: Items sent to the Consent Calendar or Old Business will be heard before the full Council at the Metro Council Meeting on November 20, 2014.
