Call to Order
Chair Person Yates called the meeting to order at 3:36 p.m. and introduced the
members and non-members that were present. A quorum was established.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A STATE GRANT OF $25,000
FROM THE COMMONWEALTH OF KENTUCKY, TRANSPORTATION CABINET, OFFICE
OF HIGHWAY SAFETY TO BE USED BY THE LOUISVILLE METRO POLICE
DEPARTMENT FOR ROADSIDE DRUG TESTING PILOT PROGRAM. (Action Required
By: September 2015)

A motion was made by Vice Chair Peden, seconded by Council Member
Denton, that this Resolution be recommended for approval.
Major Kelly Jones, Louisville Metro Police Department and Sergeant Kevin
Hamlin, Louisville Metro Police Department, spoke to the item.
The motion carried by a voice vote and the Resolution was sent to the Consent
Calendar.

AN ORDINANCE CREATING CHAPTER_OF THE LOUISVILLE/JEFFERSON COUNTY
METRO GOVERNMENT CODE OF ORDINANCES [LMCO] RELATING TO PUBLIC
“POP-UP” PARTIES. (Action Required By: September 2015)
Sponsors:Marianne Butler (D-15), Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Mary C. Woolridge (D-3) and
David Yates (D-25)
A motion was made by Vice Chair Peden, seconded by Council Member
James, that this Ordinance be recommended for approval.
A motion was made by Chair Person Yates, seconded by Council Member
James, that this Ordinance be amended by changing the language in section 5
to read "To comply with curfew laws public entertainment gatherings may not
operate past midnight on Friday and Saturday and 10:00pm Sunday through
Monday". The motion carried by a voice vote.

added as a co-sponsor. Council Member James asked to be added as
co-sponsor.
The motion to recommend for approval carried by the following vote and the
Ordinance as amended was sent to Old Business:

FIRE. (Action Required By: August 2015)
