The meeting was called to order at 9:12 a.m.
1. Roll Call.

3. Invocation or Silent Meditation.
A moment of silence occurred.
4. Approval of Previous Minutes.
There was no approval of previous minutes.
5. Presentations -- Message from His Honor, Tom Barrett, Relating to the Proposed
Executive Budget for the Year 2017.
Ald. Bohl moved for the Common Council to resolve itself into the Committee of the
Whole for the purpose of receiving a presentation. There were no objections.
His Honor, Mayor Tom Barrett, appeared and addressed the Common Council

regarding the Mayor's proposed executive budget for the year 2017.
Ald. Coggs moved that the Committee of the Whole rise. There were no objections.
Ald. Coggs moved that the Mayor's Budget for 2017 be referred to the Finance and
Personnel Committee for its review and consideration and, further, that its report on
the budget be submitted at a meeting of the Common Council to be held on Tuesday,
November 4, 2016 at 9 a.m. There were no objections.
Ald. Coggs moved, pursuant to provisions of Chapter 18-04-6 of the Milwaukee City
Charter, that a public hearing on the proposed budget for 2017 be held jointly by the
Common Council and the Mayor on Monday, October 10, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in the
Common Council Chambers, 3rd Floor, at City Hall, and further, that the City Clerk be
directed to publish the time and place of said hearing in accordance of the same
Charter provisions. There were no objections.
6. Unfinished Business.
There was no unfinished business.
7. Reports of Standing Committees.
There were no reports from the standing committees.
8. Communications to be Ordered on File.
There were no communications to be ordered on file.
9. Matters for Immediate Adoption.
There were no matters for immediate adoption.
10. Presentations of ordinances, resolutions, motions and communications.
11. Announcements.
Announcements were made.
There being no other official business, the meeting adjourned at 9:37 a.m.
