The question was put: Are there any corrections to the Common Council Journal of Proceedings for the regular meeting of March 4, 2014? There being none, the minutes of the meeting were approved without objection. Ald. Johnson moved for the Common Council to resolve itself into Committee of the Whole for the purpose of making a presentation. There were no objections. A resolution was presented by Ald. Johnson recognizing Ms. Kaylin Jones for her dedicated service to the Silver Spring Neighborhood Center and Milawukee's youth. Escorting Ms. Jones were Ald. Johnson, Rainey, Bohl, and Kovac. COMMENDATORY AND CONDOLATORY RESOLUTIONS 1. 170404 Communications from the City Clerk relating to various commendatory/condolatory resolutions to be acknowledged and affirmed by the Common Council. Sponsors: THE CHAIR The question was put: Have the members of the Common Council read the report and recommendations of the Licenses Committee and the exceptions filed under this matter? All members of the Common Council indicated reading the report and recommendations of the Licenses Committee and the exceptions filed under this matter. The question was put: Are any of the following or their counsels present and, if so, do they wish to address the Common Council?: Harjinder Singh, Diamond Inn Motel Mr. Singh and legal counsel indicated to address the Common Council. Ald. Zielinski moved that the Common Council resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purposes of hearing oral arguments on behalf of the complainant or the licenses in opposition to the report and recommendation and then a statement by the City Attorney. There were no objections. Atty. Andrew Arena appearing on behalf of Mr. Singh as legal counsel. Atty. Lakeisha Butler Wright, City Attorney's Office, appearing. Ald. Zielinski moved that the committee now rises. There were no objections. The question was put: Are there any motions relative to this matter? Ald. Johnson moved to amend the Plan of Operation that there be five security personnel at the business concerning the Hotel/Motel license for The Diamond Inn Motel located at 6222 W. Fond Du Lac Avenue. There were no objections. Ald. Johnson moved renewal with a 90-day suspension of the Hotel/Motel license for The Diamond Inn Motel located at 6222 W. Fond Du Lac Avenue notwithstanding the recommendations of the Licenses Committee. A motion was made by ALD. JOHNSON that this Motion be AMENDED.
