Witkowski joined the committee at 9:23 a.m. during item 2, CCFN 180104. Ashanti Hamilton, Common Council President & 1st Ald. Dist. 1. 180170 Communication from the Department of Employee Relations and the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners relating to a status report on the recruitment of risk management specialists by the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners. STAMPER that this Communication be HELD TO CALL OF THE CHAIR. This motion PREVAILED by the following vote: Aye 4- Coggs, Lewis, Murphy and Stamper No 0 Excused 1- Witkowski 2. 180104 Substitute resolution authorizing up to $1,900,000 dollars of 2018 contingent borrowing for damages and claims. La Keisha Butler, Fire and Police Commission Ald. Lewis moved that the Finance and Personnel Committee convene into closed session, pursuant to s. 19.85(1)(g), Wis. Stats., for the purpose of conferring with the City Attorney who will render oral or written advice with respect to litigation in which the city is or is likely to become involved. Ayes - Stamper, Murphy, Witkowski, Lewis, Coggs The committee convened into closed session at 9:33 a.m. Present - Stamper, Murphy, Witkowski, Lewis, Coggs Individuals also present at the table: Jan Smokowicz, Deputy City Attorney Grant Langley, City Attorney Terrence Gordon, Police Dept. Raymond Banks, Police Dept. La Keisha Butler, Fire and Police Commission Ald. Stamper moved that the Finance and Personnel Committee reconvene into open session. Hearing no objections, the committee reconvened into open session at 10:08 a.m. A motion was made by ALD. MURPHY that this Resolution be RECOMMENDED FOR ADOPTION. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
