David Torres 1825 S 5th St, is the applicant's husband and stated he is unsure of
how the altercation resulting in a homicide occured because it happened outside of
the establishment. He added that they have done a lot to mitigate the noise, and they
clean up outside. He doesn't believe he has affected the school and would like an
opportunity to try and improve things.

Ald. Perez stated he has met with the applicant many times and the neighbors feel
the property is a nuisance. He recommends nonrenewal.
Cpt Wurth stated she has significant concerns regarding the violence at the
premises and drug trafficking in the area. As well as the amount of police resources
needed to control the issues. She added the premises is becoming a nuisance
property. She recommends nonrenewal. Individuals present in oppositon:
Steven Hasbrook, 221 Scenicridge Ct, President of Notre Dame School is concerned
about the safety of his students, their families, and the faculty because the school
has activities until 6 PM.
Mary Schneider 1505 W Scott stated the premises is very loud, that she can feel the
vibrations from the music in her house and has asked the owners to close the door
many times. She stated there is fighting at night and there are empty beer bottles and
cans all over. David DiAntonio 3129 S Vermont Ave, Assistant Pricipal of Notre Dame
School stated he is concerned about the safety of their students, their families and
the community as well. They hold events at night after 6 PM and the bar is dangerous
to their students, families, and visitors.
Emilia Meledez 2025 S 28th St, Business and Facilities Manager of Notre Dame
School stated she agrees with the previous speakers. She added she sees people
outside the bar when students are being dismissed and the liquor delivery trucks
block the school's driveway.
Linda Delon 2576 S 28th St is a parent of a Notre Dame student, stated she sees
intoxicated patrons and beer bottles all over when she is picking up her daughter
from school. She recommended the bar open later so she and others don't have to
witness this behavior.

stated the organizations are not in support of the application because there is an
overconcentration of liquor stores in the area. Ald. Coggs moved to enter into the
record the UWM School of Architecture and Urban Planning student report as exhibit
#3. (Prevailed 5-0) Patrick Canele 3002 W State St stated he has seen people
smoking in the store and the store doesn't provide an itemized receipt with
purchases.
Karen Pauly 1336 N 32nd St stated there are too many liquor stores in the
neighborhood and added the outside of the store looks nice.
Jeff Martinka 1922 N Booth St of Neighborhood House stated the neighborhood
doesn't need another liquor store.

Steve Ewing 3119 W Wells St stated the concentration of beer will not increase beer
consumption. He added the applicant runs a good operation and is in support.
Ald. Kovac moved denial based on concentration, general health, safety, and welfare,

parties in parking lots, and people parking in his parking lot.He has to call to get the
cars park illegally ticketed and towed. Patrick Housfeld 2567 S 12th St stated the
premises is across the street from Grandview high school and parking is limited,
littering has increased, and he has witnessed cars racing and cruising, gunshots, and
has been run off the road on his bike by customers of the premises.
