1. Roll call and approval of previous meeting minutes.
Ms. Wolfe moved approval. There were no objections.
2. Report from Public Art Subcommittee.
-- Recommendations for Conservation Funding.
Ms. Morris reported on the application from the Milwaukee Police Department for
matching funds to restore the Narendra Patel statue at the District 6 headquarters.
The project is estimated at $4,200 and the application requests matching funds of up
to $2,000.
Ms. Morris moved approval, seconded by Ms. Layden. There were no objections.
Ms. Morris also stated that New Work Fund applications are due at the end of
February.
Roll call revised to reflect the arrival of Ms. Cubias and Alderman Murphy.

3. Grants Update.
Ms. Witte states that 11 of the 32 final reports have been submitted with no major
issues. Interim reports were due on January 31. She states that an organization has
moved to Glendale and confirmed that it is no longer eligible.
Ms. Witte also gave an update on the annual Grant Writing Workshop , which was
attended by 24 potential applicants.
Alderman Murphy stated that if eligibility inquiries are received, they can be
forwarded to him and distributed to members for review.
4. Artists of the Year Reception.
The reception will be held March 11th at the Broadway Theatre Center.
5. Friends of Art Award.
The award will be presented in June. Nominations can be submitted via email to be
reviewed at the April meeting.
6. Beerline Trail Extension Plans for Bridge Redesign and Art Activities.
Guests: Ben Schultz, Civil Engineer, DPW; Keith Hayes, beintween
Ben Schultz from DPW was present to describe plans for the Beerline Trail . Keith
Hayes was unable to attend. Mr. Schultz states that Keith Hayes and his
organization, beintween, are working with the Greater Milwaukee Committee on a
plan to install art along the Beerline Trail extension . They have been awarded a grant
from ArtPlace.
Mr. Schultz stated the city will be purchasing the corridor land to install the bike trail.
There are separate advisory committees for the design of the trail and for determining
the art work that will be installed. Both committees have been doing community
outreach for input. He will also keep the Arts Board apprised of the project 's progress.
There will be a forum on the project in April. Alderman Murphy states that a
presentation can be given at the next Arts Board meeting .

Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances
are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists
appearing before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such.
