Common Council. Ms. Witte mentioned that members may want to be involved in the
celebration in June.
-An article in the Milwaukee Business Journal states the city is looking for ideas to
revitalize the parking lot at 4th St and Wisconsin Ave. The Creative Alliance is

-DCD has produced a vacant lot handbook with revitalization possibilities for citizens.
Some ideas could be public art related.
-Century City has chosen a design for their public art commission competition. They
will be keeping the landscaping portion, but are reopening the competition for a
sculpture. The manager of the project has asked if the Arts Board could be involved
in helping to design the process. She would like to attend the April meeting.
5. New Business
Ms. Morris stated that there will be two art projects for the Menomonee Valley along
the Hank Aaron State Trail. She suggested that members may want to have the
project leaders come to a meeting to discuss progress.
Ms. Morris explained that MMSD is interested in sites for murals along rivers and the
lake. She encouraged members to consider ideas for placement of the murals.
Locations of public art are listed on the Smithsonian website and Wikipedia . Ms.
