Roll Call Individual also present: Sally Witte, Department of City Development Present 9 - DeLind, Morris, Flores, Murphy, Kovac, Harpole, Klose, Layden and Hill Excused 8 - Murphy, Cubias, Kingsbury, McSweeney, Fraker, Kosarzycki, Balistreri and Garcia 2. Review and Approval of Previous Meeting Minutes Ms. Layden moved approval of the minutes, seconded by Ms. Harpole. There were no objections. 3. Presentation “Temporary Resurfacing” Demitra Copoulos, Marla Sanvick, and Maeve Jackson presented on the "Temporary Resurfacing" public art project from 2016. 4. Public Art Subcommittee Report Ms. Morris stated the Conservation grants were considerered at the meeting and 2 of the 3 applications will be deferred until the next meeting, and the New Work Fund applications will be considered at the next meeting. 5. Grants Update City of Milwaukee Page 1 MILWAUKEE ARTS BOARD Meeting Minutes February 14, 2017 Ms. Witte stated grants workshops are being conducted and the deadline is March 6th. 6. Old Business There was no old business. 7. Announcements Mr. Hill stated he is having a solo art show at Jazele's on February 15th with a poetry reading. Ms. Klose stated the Mayor's design awards deadline is March 31st for exceptional design of spaces and places in the city of Milwaukee. Announcements In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit) at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information is available at http://city.milwaukee.gov/Lobbying.
