Roll Call Present 5 - Tietyn-Mlengana, Estremera-Maldonado, Wade, Haywood II and Brunson Absent 4 - May, Ellzey, Jones and Hines Excused 3 - Jaeckels, Zollicoffer and Hoeschen Also present: Erica Lofton - Dist. 2 Ken'Triana McDade - Dist. 9th 3. Follow up to #nofreerides by Public Information Division Mr. Bill Arnold appeared to asked youth council members on ideas to how to send message for the #nofreerides campaign. Members agreed to do short video and compile 20 factoid uploads send to Mr. Arnold by April 29. MKE project wants to leverage in and share some of their resources in this campaign. Mr. Arnold also mentioned to have youth council presence in the different activities host by different aldemanic districts. 4. Participation of MYC in future MKE Peace Project initiatives Ms. Sarah Zarate and Edwin Huertas from President's Murphy's office appeared before Youth Council to request Youth Council feedback regarding the entries, participation and selection process of the MKE project and also expressed an interest to participate in the #nofreerides. 5. Youth engagement opportunities with Boys & Girls Club President Haywood II talked about a cooperative participation with the Boys & Girls Club to educate youth about government and to expand the youth council efforts and initiatives. Introduction of the new Director for the Office of Violence Prevention Mr. Reggie Moore new director of the Office of Violence Prevention, introduced himself to the youth council and offered to come back with detail programs information geared to the youth and to ask for the youth involvement and collaboration. 7. Announcements Visitor, A. Myles owner and CEO of Num Yummies, wanted to observe Youth Council business Mr. Owczarski reminded all youth council members to attend the inauguration next week tuesday in City Hall. 8. Meeting adjourned at 5:52 PM Members of the Common Council and its standing committees who are not members of this committee may attend this meeting to participate or to gather information. Notice is given that this meeting may constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of its standing committees, although they will not take any formal action at this meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids. Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division.
