Call to Order at 4:46PM 2. Roll Call Also soon to be confirmed Representing the 7th Aldermanic District - Aron Cross, Jr. Present 10 - Haywood II, Hoeschen, Lofton, McDade, Gloria Gonzales, Brown, Gambrell-Toliver, Truss, Alcantara and Dunn 3. Community Development Block Grant Reprogramming Process Update Appearing: Steven Mahan - Director of Community Development Block Grant Office Mr. Mahan distributed the 2016 Request for Proposal - CIty of Milwaukee Youth Council listing of agencies that applied and were interviewed by council last year. 10% of the entire City allocation or $99,845 dollars are made available for youth council to allocate. After discussion went about what categories to target to apply for these funds, council made a decision to target 1. At Risk Youth included but not limited to homeless teens, mental health, human Trafficking, driver's license 2. Civil engagement 3. Youth Employment Mr. Hoeschen moved, seconded by member Lofton to approve the RFP to be release by Community Development Block Grant Reprogramming. There were no objections 4. Social media update President encouraged council members to continue with their posts on the media outlets. 5. Youth Council Apparel No updates were provided at this time. Youth Council Newsletter Council president enourage members to get ready to participate on the content sharing for the newsletter 7. Announcements Per Youth Council request, the following City Officials will be appearing at the next Youth Council meetings: Director of Department of City Development - Rocky Marcoux September 27th City of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett October 11th Miwlaukee Health Department Commissioner - Bevan Baker October 25th These meetings will be formal, broadcast from the Council Chambers. 8. Adjournment In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development, and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the simultaneous meeting. Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids.
