Please be apprised that less than 24 hours' notice is being given for item #4 it is
impractical to give the 24 hours' notice.
1. Call to Order at 4:41 PM
2. Roll Call.
Present 13 - Hoeschen, Lofton, McDade, Gonzales, Gambrell-Toliver, Truss, Alcantara,
Dunn, Smith, Cross, Randolph, Castro and Jordan
Absent 1 - Headley
3. Responsible social media campaign.
Mr. Arnold from Public Information Division presented the short video for the PSA
#OurEyeOnly responsible media practices. There will be a second short video at the
next meeting. PSA. Once both video are done, the next steps will be to have posters
made, handout, and a fact sheet; a launch news conference will follow.
This item will be reschedule at the next Youth Council Meeting of April 25, 2018.

4. Behavioral Mental Health and Wellness Summit.
Ms. Patricia Taylor appeared before council to invite youth council to attend a Youth
Behavior Health summit coming up in May 19, 2018 from 12-4PM.
Flyer for distribution will be sent via email to all youth council members to spread the
word.
5. Shadow Day with your Council Representative.
Ms. McHenry appeared to proposed youth concil members shadow their district
representative at one of the Common Council meetings.
Members will confirm thier availability to attend a council meeting.
6. Discussion relating to Proper Police Procedure.
Youth Council members would like to invite representatives from Department of

Employee Relations, Fire and Police Commission and Milwaukee Police Department to
follow up regarding police training and proper police procedures.

In the event that Common Council members who are not members of this committee attend this
meeting, this meeting may also simultaneously constitute a meeting of the Common Council or any of
the following committees: Community and Economic Development, Finance and Personnel, Judiciary
and Legislation, Licenses, Public Safety, Public Works, Zoning, Neighborhoods & Development,
and/or Steering and Rules. Whether a simultaneous meeting is occurring depends on whether the
presence of one or more of the Common Council member results in a quorum of the Common
Council or any of the above committees, and, if there is a quorum of another committee, whether any
agenda items listed above involve matters within that committee’s realm of authority. In the event that
a simultaneous meeting is occurring, no action other than information gathering will be taken at the
simultaneous meeting.
Upon reasonable notice, efforts will be made to accommodate the needs of persons with disabilities
through sign language interpreters or auxiliary aids. For additional information or to request this

Limited parking for persons attending meetings in City Hall is available at reduced rates (5 hour limit)
at the Milwaukee Center on the southwest corner of East Kilbourn and North Water Street. Parking
tickets must be validated in the first floor Information Booth in City Hall.
Persons engaged in lobbying as defined in s. 305-43-4 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances are
required to register with the City Clerk's Office License Division. Registered lobbyists appearing
before a Common Council committee are required to identify themselves as such. More information
