Minutes of the Board of Assessors Meeting of December 4, 2014 A meeting of the Board of Assessors was held on Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Room 208, 2nd floor of City Hall. The meeting was called to order at 8:15 AM by Chair Dominic D’Antoni. Members Present: Dominic D’Antoni Robert Earley Assessing Staff Present: Angelo Marino Louise Brown Cheryl Walley Minutes of the Meeting: The minutes for the meeting held on November 20, 2014 were approved. Abatement Requests Presented: A complete list is available in the Assessor’s Office. Appointments: None. Staff Items: Supervisor of Assessing Administration, Ms. Louise Brown presented a 2014 application for an elderly exemption that was received after the statutory deadline of April 15, 2014. She advised the Board the exemption was denied because required documentation was not received by July 1, 2014 which is the statutory deadline for processing exemption applications. After the applicants received the final bill in November, 2014 they came in to inquire about the removal of the elderly exemption and were reminded we were waiting for additional documentation and never received it. This documentation has now been received and based on the paperwork submitted, the applicants meets the criteria to receive the elderly exemption for 2014. After some discussion the Board approved the late filing of this application and made the following motion: MOTION BY Robert Earley to accept the application for an elderly exemption late as the reason falls under “accident, mistake or misfortune” as allowed by State of NH law.
