MEETING MINUTES
BOH Members Present: Dr. Anthony Storace
Dr. Peter Klementowicz

The Board was given the meeting Agenda, monthly departmental reports, current Board of Health
budget and June BOH Meeting Minutes.
Meeting called to order at 12:40 p.m. by Dr. Storace - Quorum was met (Formal Meeting)
1. Ashley Conley gave a presentation on the upcoming Community Health Assessment Survey, which
will be held on October 23rd, 2010. She passed out copies of her presentation and explained in detail
how this survey will work. Additionally, she requested assistance from the Board in the funding of this
event. Dr. Storace suggested that a vote on this request be held by Board members within the next two
weeks.

2. Department Reports
Community Health – Bobbie Bagley presented:
Chicken Pox cases confirmed
TB funding has been cut; however, the number of cases has increased
Public Health Nurses have updated the core curriculum
August was Immunization Month
o Five different events were held and were well attended
Funding for the Lead Program has ended
o Expect an RFP to go out so that next year we will have the opportunity to submit a
new request.
It will be for Healthy Homes (lead, environmental, etc.)
School based flu vaccination clinics will be starting the week of September 20th.
Bobbie Bagley introduced Victoria Alabi, our CDC Public Health Apprentice, who is with us
on a two-year apprentice program. She will report to Bobbie Bagley in Community Health
during her first year and Heidi Peek in Environmental Health for her second year. Victoria
discussed her background pleasure at being placed with the City of Nashua Public Health and
Community Services as her home for the next two years.
Dr. Storace mentioned that there is a meeting this Friday for the School Health Groups and
asked Bobbie if we are still having nursing students help with clinics. Dr. Storace will let her
know if the school health programs are still interested in assisting this year.
Child Care – Kerran Vigroux presented in Chris Lister’s absence:
Chris participated in the Touch a Truck event, which raised over $3,400 for child care
assistance
Chris also participated in the Back to School Event, which was a huge success
At our last Division Quarterly Staff Meeting, Sue Meade spoke about stress management.
Emergency Preparedness – Ashley Conley presented in Patty Crooker’s absence:
Emergency Preparedness spent down some of the Grant dollars during the summer on our
room, medical supplies, triage center and a trailer to be used to support an alternative care
site.
We will have a Med Surge Workshop/Table Top event on November 19th at Rivier College
Most of Ashley’s time has been spent in preparation for the Community Health Assessment
Survey which will take place on October 23rd.
Environmental Health – Heidi Peek presented
The Pool Program in finished for the year
Temporary events have kept the department very busy
Responded to the FDA Goya recall and found some product in smaller markets in Nashua
o Gave information and educational materials to the owners in Spanish and English
Food sampling issues are being addressed

Bed Bugs are still continuing and two educational seminars were held:
o One at Nashua Housing
o One at Community Development
Unhealthy “living condition” situations in the city included two cases involving children,
dogs and other complex issues
Four sites testing mosquitoes
o All tests so far have been negative
Rabies Control
o Updated bite reports
Dogs, cats, ferrets now being tracked on a spreadsheet
Currently there is a voluntary compliance in place
Looking into penalty if dog not seen by a vet in case of a bite incident
Mediation – Sandy Mulcahy presented:
Participated in the Planning Committee for the Back to School Event
Incentive Fund Grant was written and has been submitted to DHHS
Involved in the planning of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Awareness luncheon, which
will be held at Nashua Country Club on October 6th
