MEETING MINUTES
BOH Members Present: Dr. Anthony Storace
Dr. Peter Klementowicz
Dr. Ajay Sharma
Aldermen Present: Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja
Staff Present: Kerran Vigroux, Heidi Peek, Bob Mack, Bobbie Bagley, Patty Crooker,
Ashley Conley, Barbara Scacco, Janet Graziano, Chris Lister
The Board was given the meeting Agenda, monthly departmental reports, current Board of Health
budget and October BOH Meeting Minutes.
Meeting called to order at 12:42 p.m. by Dr. Ajay Sharma - Quorum was met (Formal Meeting)
1. Request to vote on the October 2010 BOH Minutes.
a. Motion made to accept the minutes-Dr. Storace

Department Reports
Community Health – Bobbie Bagley presented
Planning flu clinics – School Based
o 850 students were vaccinated at the school based clinics
o 4-5 schools remain to receive vaccinations
Communicable disease-16 cases this month
o One Legionella case – GI symptoms were severe and case is open and
under investigation.
Gave flu shots at the Employee Health Fair
PSA on National Lead Poisoning Prevention Week – working with Nashua Cable TV
STD – The State has open HEP C testing for everyone
Lyme Report is contained in everyone’s folder, as well as a Power Point presentation.
Child Care – Chris Lister presented
Grants
o We received funding of approximately $53,000 to work on H1N1 response gaps.
Emergency Preparedness – Patty Crooker presented
Additional funding available for H1N1 response and areas for improvement
o Part-time staffing for Warehouse Coordination and Closed POD Coordination.
o Training and equipment
Participated in the Statewide Cities Readiness Initiative which was a three day event
Attended and presented at the Functional Needs Conference
Participated in a MACE exercise
Ashley Conley Presented
o October meeting of ICPs provided information and statistics
It was agreed that they will now meet three times per year.
o CHA – 16 teams went out on October 23rd and 14 teams on November 6th
First in state to use CASPER protocol
Beginning to receive data, which is due December 15th
o GIS Project – mapping; i.e., food stores, hospitals, pharmacies, etc.
Health Education – Kerran Vigroux presented on behalf of Corinn Dembkoski
Corinn worked with the CHA on the media outreach piece and distributed informative flyers
throughout the City.
Employee Health Fair for employees and their families
o Corinn worked with Cheryl Bonanno of HR to pull this event together
o We had 24 employees volunteer to help at the fair

Great American Smoke Out is on November 18th
o Corinn is doing a couple of events throughout the City for this event, including supporting
those City employees who want to quit.
She continues to work with social media; i.e., Facebook, Twitter and encourages people to be a
Facebook friend of the Division.
Working on Lead Prevention Week in Children with Bobbie’s group.
Environmental Health – Heidi Peek presented
Heidi and Kerran attended a public hearing for proposed changes to the State food code.
o We will probably adopt the Federal Food Code
Involved with the Holiday Stroll
o Issued some temporary licenses for this event
Currently addressing food being transferred from one restaurant to another.
Food Sampling
o This month the State added salmonella; however none was found.
Still hearing concerns about bed bugs.
Participated at the Employee Health Fair, and some staff participated in the Community Health
Assessment
Welfare - Bob Mack presented
Decrease in some expenditures, but pretty much sustaining at the same level
o Some people we can assist and others we refer out and connect to other resources.
Project Homeless Event will be November 30th from 12:00 noon to 4:00 p.m. at Harbor Homes, 45
High Street.
o Assist homeless as well as ‘at risk” population.
o We will be giving flu shots and informational brochures on our various services
o There will be 33 agencies represented at this event
United Way Campaign has begun
Welfare is participating in the Toys for Tots, and will set this up for active clients of the Welfare
program
Went to Concord and heard from Commissioner Toumpas concerning the budget as well as the new
health care reform bill.
Mediation – Bob Mack presented on behalf of Sandy Mulcahy
Presented to DHHS regarding Incentive Funding for the grant application for that program
Coordinated Alternative Dispute Resolution Workshop; approximately 30-40 attendees at that event.
Bob, Kerran and Sandy met to go over outreach programs

Dr. Storace
Dr. Storace requested a vote from the Board members to supplement the Community Health
Assessment in the sum of $2,311.53 from the BOH budget.
o Dr. Storace, Dr. Sharma and Dr. Klementowicz each voted to accept this motion
o Vote was unanimous and approved
He also discussed the Health Sciences Committee meeting and the “Shadowing Program”
o Asked if we at Public Health would be willing to participate and/or speak to the students
o Dr. Storace will notify the Committee to contact Kerran if interested.
Alderman Mary Ann Melizzi-Golja referenced the speech and dental programs at the school.

Meeting Ended: 1:30 p.m.
Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 8th, 2010 at 12:30 p.m.at the Nashua Community
TV Studio, located at 11 Riverside Drive, at the back entrance of the Transit Building, located on the
right after the Police Station.
