City of Nashua Division of Public Health & Community Services 18 Mulberry Street, Nashua, NH 03060 BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING July 8, 2015 12:30 PM 18 Mulberry Street, 2nd floor Nashua, NH 03060 MEETING MINUTES BOH Members Present: Dr. Anthony Storace, Chair Dr. Thomas Astolfi Dr. Charles Cappetta Aldermanic Liaison: Lori Wilshire Board members were given an agenda, May minutes, SB 125, and copies of the department reports. Meeting was called to order at 12:30 pm. Minutes: Dr. Cappetta made a motion to accept July, 2015 minutes, Dr. Storace seconded the motion. Unanimous passage. Reports Department Managers and Program Coordinators summarized their reports for the month of July, 2015  Kerran reported for the Program Coordinator, Betty Wendt reported for Jackie Aguilar and Rene Beaudoin reported for Heidi Peek.  Kerran announced that this was Shannon Davis’ last Board of Health meeting as her field placement with the CDC is over at the end of July.  The Community Health Department conducted 104 HIV tests on National HIV day and also provided a blood pressure screening clinic for the Plus Company.  Rene provided the Board with information regarding SB 125 relative to certification for mold assessment services which was approved on July 6, 2015. Beginning on January 1st, 2016 this new mold law will be in effect requiring a mold assessment certification for anyone inspecting, investigating, or surveying a structure to provide information regarding the presence, identification, or evaluation of mold; for the development of a mold remediation 1  protocol; or for the collection of a mold sample(s) for analysis. This law is an amendment to RSA 310-A:189 which details licenses required for home inspectors. As the environmental health department receives many complaints regarding mold, this will allow us to refer tenants/landlords to certified mold assessors for evaluation.  The Board requested that Heidi utilize the “track changes” feature when revising the license suspension and revocation document. . Public Comments None Dr. Astolfi made a motion to adjourn. Dr. Cappetta seconded the motion. The motion passed. Meeting adjourned at 1:13 pm. The next meeting will be on August 12, 2015. 2
