Meeting started at 4:08pm
In attendance: Mayor Lozeau, Charlie Matthews, Joy Barrett, Carolyn Mortellaro, Alderman LaRose, Rosalie
McQuaid, Claire McGrath, Frank Mellen. Also attending is a Nashua resident interested in the Hunt board -
Heath Gaffney
Correspondence:
Chairs were offered to the Hunt Building by the Nashua Public Library. They would be great for a conference
room at the Hunt.
Motion to accept the Library’s offer of chairs for the Hunt made by Claire, seconded by Frank. All in favor.
Motion carries.
Secretary’s Report:
Motion to accept the June 2011 secretary’s report made by Claire with a correction to change litigation to
infiltration. seconded by Rosalie. All in favor. Motion carries.

Administrator’s Report:
No administrator’s report this month.
Maintenance Report:
No maintenance report this month.
Status of Renovations:
Overall renovations are going well. John P and the general contractor (Schroeder) are working very well
together. Work is progressing. Pouring the foundation for the elevator shaft – 95% of the concrete work
completed tomorrow. Masonry will start next week. Roof framing has been partially completed. Windows are
progressing nicely. Next architect/contracting meeting is scheduled Thursday, July 7th at 3pm at the Hunt.

Events:
Gala Grand Opening Event:
Successful meeting regarding the Hunt re-opening. Please see Charlie’s notes at the end of these minutes for
more detail of the meeting. Charlie will be chairperson from the Board of Trustees for this event and one will
be selected from the Friends of the Hunt. They are considering a 3 day series of event in January (Friday,
Saturday & Sunday).
Friday night …entertainment, Saturday Gala, a Sunday brunch and a children’s event on Sunday.
Next meeting July 18th at 6:30pm at Office of the Mayor.
Discussion about possibly looking at holding those events in the spring due to weather, etc.
Friends of the Hunt:
Well attended fundraising at Richard & Elizabeth Foemel. They were very generous in supporting this event.
The next Friends meeting is at the Nashua Public Library in the Hunt room, July 11 at 6:30pm
Old Business:
Two committees are currently active:
Re-opening committee (Charlie-Chair) and Contract/Leasing/Rental Committee (Carolyn & Scott)
We will meet with Tom Gallagani from the Economic Development Department from the City of
Nashua. Carolyn will arrange a meeting with Tom, Risk management, Scot and Charlie.
New Business:
Bids for the water infiltration - Bids came in at approximately $72,000. $95,000 was budgeted.
We need to go through the process to have access to the balance to pay for the steps/railing and other
entrance exterior work. This needs to go through Urban Planning.
Discussion about providing PR for the status of the building. Claire McGrath will take on this role and help
market the renovations of the building.
Mayor Lozeau’s wanted to get a sense of where things are and how things are moving along.

Notes for the Grand Reopening Meeting: We had our first meeting of the Grand Reopening
Committee. Present were Charlie Matthews, Scot Weisman, Erin Holly, Liz Takacs, Denise Pliska, and Sue
Hurwitz. Carolyn Mortellaro had out of town visitors, Marilyn Solomon had another commitment, and Judy
Carlson had another meeting - she sent some notes and guidelines to help us get started. I hope that we can get
better attendance at our next meeting, MONDAY, 18 JULY 2011 IN THE MAYOR”S CONFERENCE ROOM, CITY
HALL.
We had ordered a white board to keep track of our ideas. i will try to set forth those notes below. i am sending
this to the Friends and Charlie will forward it to the Trustees.

Rental and/or lease brochure Premiere + Arts and Culture

History of the Building + oral find people get their memories on video tape - Oldest Native??? *

GAD and City Arts - article setting forth potential including size and location in building (Sue will contact
City Arts)
*Denise will contact Pat Francis, Peter Desaules (spelling?), and Jean and Russ Marcou (spelling?) for names of
people to interview
Sue will try to contact Bea Francouer
Sara will talk to Marilyn Solomon, Meri Goyette and Dean Shalhoup
Possibly Frank Wallen can do the video taping.
We also discussed the fact that we hope the fire marshall will reevaluate and allow more people in the building.
Also discussed the necessity of hiring a bartender or have someone take the TIPS course, if beer and wine are to
be served.
