The Hunt Building Minutes September 6, 2011 4:01 pm Meeting started at 4:08pm In attendance: Charlie Matthews, Joy Barrett, Carolyn Mortellaro, Alderman LaRose, Rosalie McQuaid, Frank Mellen, Marilyn Solomon, Tammy Crisp, Scot Weisman & Judy Carlson from Friends of the Hunt. Also attending is a Bishop Guertin High School student Manasa Jampana interested in the Hunt and in volunteering. Correspondence: Sam Santoro wanted more information about the Hunt. Plus Company asks if we would donate a rental for their annual dinner auction. A motion by Joy to provide the Plus Company with a donation for rental for their 2011 auction. Seconded by Marilyn. All in favor. Motion carries. Yankee magazine sent out information for the NH visitor guide. Too expensive...$795 for a 1/12 of a page. Phone message from Robert from Steady Hands Music studio. Asked about the Art Walk and his time? Carolyn will check out and connect him to the correct contact people. Clare McGrath gave her resignation to the board trustees. Email from Kevin Hogan – Proposal from Cram and Ferguson to investigate various leaks throughout the building cost not to exceed $3,800. Secretary’s Report: Update New Business – Nashua Public Library and Hunt Memorial Building Motion to accept the August 2011 secretary’s report made by Charlie with a correction to change. seconded by frank. All in favor. Motion carries. Treasurers Report: September 2011 – Budget approved $33,447 6006 Hunt Bldg. Charitable $368.02 Hunt Building Rental Income $0 Hunt Building Budget $30,110.69 – left (90%) $3,220.94 – used (10%) Hunt Memorial Fund $18.27 (Carolyn will ask Rean) Ella Anderson Trust $-1000 Table the Motion to accept until Carolyn talks to Rean Lam. Administrator’s Report: Hunt to be on the Winter Holiday Stroll as a venue. Ed Lecius gave us a tentative yes for being Santa this year Carolyn submitted the NH Charitable Foundation express grant for $5,000 – for programming Undated Board of Trustees list but will need to update again with Claire’s resignation. Motion to accept Administrators Report made by Scot seconded by Marilyn. All in favor. Motion carries. Status of Renovations: Page 1 of 2 Job site meeting on Thursday 9-8-2011 at 3pm. All windows are near completion. The tile for the bathroom was about 9K. Carolyn met to change the tile to something more affordable but functional for which we received a $2,000 credit. Apron for the building has started. Events: Winter Holiday Stoll - Nov 26th Private Rental - Dec 3rd Two Old Friends – March 25th Klezmer Band – Thursday April 5th Gala Grand Opening Event – January 6th, 7th and 8th Friends of the Hunt: We were awarded the grant for $20,000 from the NH State Council of the Arts. This is to certify that the following is a true and correct copy of the excerpts from resolutions adopted at a meeting of the Board of Directors: Be it resolved that Charles Matthews is hereby authorized on behalf of this corporation to enter into contracts with the state of New Hampshire and to execute any and all documents, agreements and other instruments, and any amendments, revisions, or modifications thereto, as he may deem necessary, desirable or appropriate. Motion of this certification by Rosalie and seconded by Frank. All in favor. Motion carries. Old Business: Two plaques on the front. $125 to refinish the plaques. Frank will look into the cost of adding another plaque with the dates the Hunt was the library. Motion by Marilyn that Frank looks into a price to add dates for the Hunt library plaque. Seconded by Rosalie. All in favor. Motion carries. New Business: Carolyn provided a draft of the Function Rental Agreement.
